Abstract

  • In January 2020 in Central Java there was an inflation of 0.09 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.99. Of the 6 CPI cities in Central Java, 4 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tegal City by 0.34 percent with CPI of 104.17; Purwokerto City by 0.32 percent with CPI of 103.23; Surakarta City by 0.14 percent with CPI of 103.33; The city of Semarang was 0.06 percent with the CPI 104.41 percent. Deflation occurred in Cilacap City by 0.03 percent with CPI of 102.47 and Kota Kudus by 0.01 percent with CPI 103.37.
  • Inflation occurred because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most of the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.64 percent; the personal care group and other services by 0.37 percent; health group of 0.31 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.26 percent; the clothing and footwear group and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group each by 0.16 percent and the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.11 percent.
