Abstract

In July 2022, Central Java experienced inflation of 0.51 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.89. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.
The main cause of inflation in Central Java in July 2022 is the increase in prices of red chilies, shallots, air transportation, filter clove cigarettes and purebred chicken meat. The main barrier to inflation in Central Java is a decrease in the prices of cooking oil, garlic, elementary school, gold jewelry and rice.
The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2022 is 4.28 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2022 to July 2021) is 5.45 percent.
