Kajen – (Tuesday, 17 June) The TOP Podcast (Terobosan OPD Pekalongan) featured the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Pekalongan Regency as its guest. In this episode, the discussion centered on the theme “The Importance of Data”, with the Head of BPS Pekalongan Regency, Maibu Barwis Sugiharto, S.ST., M.Si., serving as the main speaker.
The session highlighted how statistical data serves as a vital foundation for formulating well-targeted development policies. The Head of BPS explained that the data produced by BPS is macro in nature and is primarily used for planning and evaluating development programs.
Currently, BPS is preparing for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), which plays a critical role as a primary source of data for economic policymaking and development planning.
The podcast also covered BPS services, which are free and easily accessible through the Integrated Statistical Services (Pelayanan Statistik Terpadu - PST), offering both online and offline options for data requests and consultations.
This podcast episode can be viewed on the Radio Kota Santri YouTube channel: RKS TV.
Through this platform, BPS Pekalongan Regency hopes to raise greater public awareness that data is more than just numbers—it is the key to better and more effective development.
