Supervision of KSA Observations in Lumeneng Village, Paninggaran District

Thursday (25/7) Head of BPS Pekalongan Regency, Maibu Barwis Sugiharto, SST., M.Si. supervised observations of rice plant growth phases using the KSA method in segments in Lumeneng Village, Paninggaran District.
Several KSA supervisors and student interns also took part in this activity.

The KSA method is a method used to monitor plant growth phases at 9 points in each segment. As observed this month, the rice plants are already in the generative phase, marked by the appearance of quite a lot of rice grains.

By observing the growth phase each month, it will be possible to obtain an estimate of rice productivity for a period in one region. This will help the government in making policies regarding food availability in Indonesia, especially in Pekalongan Regency.

The supervision activity aims to monitor the performance of KSA officers and ensure that the quality of KSA data is maintained. Apart from that, this activity is also a form of increasing statistical literacy, where students who are doing internships can know more about activities at BPS, especially KSA data collection procedures.
