In order to succeed the 2020 Population Census, BPS Pekalongan Regency has garnered support in the Pekalongan Regency government environment. The event, entitled "Socialization of the 2020 Population Census and the Signing of the Commitment of Support in the Framework of Succeeding the 2020 Population Census", was opened by the Regent of Pekalongan K.H. Asip Kholbihi, SH.M.Si. The event was held in the 1st floor Hall of the Regional Secretariat of Pekalongan Regency, on Thursday (12/26/2019). In his remarks, the Regent of Pekalongan said that population data was very important. To formulate policies, accurate data is needed. He also said, "If we are ignorant of data, let alone to build, to speak can be wrong. With this population census, the actual population will be obtained. "
In his remarks, Head of BPS of Pekalongan Regency, Siti Mardiyah, M.A. said that population data is upstream from efforts to increase human capital (HR) and productivity. In addition, the interesting thing is that the population census in 2020 will use a different method from the previous population census. SP2020 uses a combination method, which uses registration data relevant to the census which is then supplemented with survey samples. Later, SP2020 will be used for development evaluation and planning in various fields.
In delivering SP2020 socialization material, Head of BPS of Pekalongan Regency, Siti Mardiyah, M.A. also said that some time ago, Monday (11/25/2019) the Ministry of Home Affairs had expressed its support for SP2020 by submitting dukcapil data to BPS-RI. The SP2020 socialization material was closed with an invitation from the Head of BPS of Pekalongan Regency to jointly succeed SP2020.
After delivering the SP2020 socialization material, a joint commitment to support the OPD was signed for the SP2020 implementation.
The event was also attended by Deputy Regent of Pekalongan Ir. Hj. Arini Harimurti, Forkopimda, Regional Secretary of Pekalongan Regency Dra. Hj. Mukaromah Syakoer, MM along with the Assistant Secretary, the Expert Staff of the Regent and the Heads of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) of Pekalongan Regency.
